Christopher Vivell working on Manchester United move for Angelo Stiller

Manchester United director of recruitment Christopher Vivell is reportedly working on signing 25-year-old German international Angelo Stiller from VfB Stuttgart this summer.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are keen on bolstering their first-team squad by signing a versatile midfielder ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The latest update has revealed that Christopher Vivell is the driving force behind Manchester United’s move for the VfB Stuttgart midfielder. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga club will demand around £50 million to part ways with the Munich-born midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.

Angelo Stiller and his rise

Angelo Stiller has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga since joining VfB Stuttgart from TSG Hoffenheim in August 2023. The 25-year-old has made considerable progress in the last three seasons, with his exploits for Die Schwaben also helping him break into his national squad.

The German international, whose creativity from deeper areas of the midfield has been eye-catching, has made over 100 appearances for VfB Stuttgart thus far while chipping in with six goals and 27 assists. Meanwhile, Stiller’s progress has stimulated the interest of several European bigwigs. Manchester United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature this year.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Angelo Stiller has been on Manchester United’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as the Red Devils are scouring the market for a versatile midfielder. With Casemiro set to leave Manchester United as a free agent after the 2025/26 season, they need a long-term successor to the Brazilian international.

Manuel Ugarte will not be that player, as he has been dreadful since joining Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain and has managed only 915 minutes of game time this term. Stiller has thus emerged as a viable target for Manchester United, as the German international is primarily a holding midfielder and possesses the creative ability to become a transformative signing for the Premier League club in the middle of the park by being an ideal foil to Bruno Fernandes.

However, several other heavyweights have shown interest in Stiller, and the competition for the 25-year-old German midfielder’s signature will be intense. Nevertheless, with Christopher Vivell working on the deal to sign the £50 million-rated VfB Stuttgart mainstay, a summer deal is not out of the question.
