Manchester City set to hold crunch talks with Jack Grealish for summer move

Manchester City playmaker Jack Grealish is currently on loan at Everton, and he has impressed in his stint with the Merseyside outfit.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Manchester City will hold crunch talks with Jack Grealish in the summer. The Englishman does not have a future at Manchester City, and it would be ideal for him to move on.

Everton are prepared to provide him with an exit route again and want to sign the player permanently in the summer. However, the £50 million asking price is a major problem, even though they have agreed to the purchase option in the loan agreement.

Clubs will be aware that Grealish is unwanted at Manchester City and will look to capitalise on the situation by signing the player for a knockdown fee, especially with the experienced English attacker on the wrong side of 30.

Everton have an option included in the loan deal to sign him for £50 million. However, it is highly unlikely that they will spend that kind of money on Grealish. The 30-year-old will enter the final year of his contract this summer, and Manchester City want to cash in on him.

Everton want to keep Jack Grealish

Everton are confident of keeping him at the Hill Dickinson Stadium beyond this season, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops. Grealish has two goals and six assists in 20 Premier League matches for Everton, and staying at the Merseyside club could be ideal for him.

Meanwhile, there have been rumours that Everton could look to renew his loan deal for another season. Such an agreement would be hugely beneficial for the Merseyside outfit. However, Manchester City will not want to lose the player for free next year, and negotiating a reasonable deal will be prudent.

Grealish must sort out his future

Grealish will be desperate to sort out his long-term future so that he can focus on his football. The Englishman will also have to accept a major pay cut if he wants to join Everton permanently. He is one of the highest earners in the Premier League, and there is no way Everton will be able to afford his wages next season.

Manchester City have covered a major chunk of his wages during the loan spell this season. So, all three parties need to hash out the key details, and Grealish’s crunch talks with City will be the first step towards that.
