Chelsea stance on Liam Rosenior future revealed after latest defeat

Chelsea reportedly have no intention of parting ways with Liam Rosenior despite their recent struggles across competitions.

Liam Rosenior was appointed as Chelsea’s new head coach at the start of the year. While the Blues have handed the English tactician a long-term deal, he is already under immense pressure despite being around for just a couple of months.

There has been a lot of talk about his future with the club struggling to get the desired results. However, according to a report from TEAMtalk, Chelsea have no plans of sacking him anytime soon despite the difficult run of form. The club’s hierarchy are backing him, amid calls for him to be shown the exit door.

Liam Rosenior was handed the reins of the London club at the start of the year after they sacked Enzo Maresca following a breakdown of relations with the club’s hierarchy. While the Blues were linked with quite a few top managers, they went ahead and appointed the 41-year-old, who was managing sister club RC Strasbourg in France.

The English tactician was expected to take charge of the West London club somewhere down the line, but an interesting turn of events resulted in him making the move to Stamford Bridge quite early in his managerial career.

Chelsea to back Liam Rosenior?

Since taking charge of Chelsea, Liam Rosenior has overseen 19 matches. Under him, they have lost seven and drawn two games. The start has been far from ideal, and he is certainly under a lot of pressure. The hammering at the hands of PSG in the UEFA Champions League and the defeat to Newcastle United and Everton (0-3) have not gone down well with the fans.

The Blues are already calling for him to be sacked. But it seems the West London club won’t rush into making such a massive decision. The BlueCo trust him, having seen him manage in Ligue 1, and that is why they handed him a long-term deal until 2032.

Chelsea are going to back him despite their recent struggles. They believe he is the right guy, and they are willing to stick with him. They want him to have a full pre-season to properly get his ideas across to the players. Despite all the noise, the board is fully behind him. They are confident he will get them playing some quality football next season.
