Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have received a major setback in their pursuit of Marc Casado, as he is set to commit his long-term future to Barcelona.
Marc Casado’s impressive rise at Barcelona hasn’t gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs from across Europe are after his signature. The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all keen on signing him, but according to a report from TEAMtalk, the Premier League trio have suffered a setback, with the Catalan giants closing in on tying the Spanish international down to a new deal.
Casado joined the Barcelona setup back in 2016. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to the first team in the summer of 2024. He has only gone from strength to strength since. While the 22-year-old is not a regular starter, he is certainly an important part of Hansi Flick’s plans.
The young defensive midfielder has made quite a name for himself with his impressive performances. While his contract runs until 2028, multiple top clubs are ready to prise him away. Clubs in England are willing to offer him an important role to try to lure him away.
Premier League clubs want to sign Casado
With Christian Norgaard likely to leave Arsenal after the end of the season, the Gunners are looking to bring in a younger alternative, and the Barcelona star is a perfect fit for their project. Meanwhile, Liverpool see him as someone who can compete with Ryan Gravenberch for a place in the starting XI. His arrival could strengthen their midfield rotation significantly.
As far as Chelsea are concerned, they are always on the lookout for young players with massive potential, and Casado certainly fits the bill. With Romeo Lavia struggling to stay fit, the Barcelona graduate could take his place in the team.
While the Premier League trio are very keen on his signature and have enquired about his availability, they are unlikely to get their hands on the 22-year-old. Barcelona are aware of the increasing interest and they have been working hard to secure his future with a new deal. They are very close to agreeing on a new long-term deal with the Spanish international.
Despite the competition for places, Casado wants to continue at Barcelona and fight for a place in the team. He is set to snub interest from English clubs and commit his future to the Spanish giants.
