Relegation-threatened La Liga club Sevilla will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old Scottish international Nathan Patterson from Everton in the winter transfer window.
According to a report by Football Insider, Nathan Patterson is the subject of interest from Sevilla. The relegation-threatened La Liga club will aim to reinforce the defensive unit by signing a right-back in the winter transfer window. So, the 24-year-old Everton wide player has emerged as a target for Los Nervionenses.
However, a January deal may not materialise, as the Scot “remains a part of David Moyes’s plans as things stand” for the second half of the 2025/26 season. Meanwhile, apart from Sevilla, several Serie A clubs are also tracking Patterson’s situation at Everton.
How has Nathan Patterson fared at Sevilla?
Nathan Patterson has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Everton from Rangers in January 2022. The Glasgow-born right-back spent his formative years in his home city, joining Rangers as an eight-year-old in 2009 before rising through the ranks and graduating to the Premiership club’s first-team squad.
However, fitness issues have plagued the 24-year-old during his spell with Everton, and he has managed only 64 appearances in the last three and a half years for the Merseyside outfit. Nevertheless, the Scottish international defender’s stock remains high, with Sevilla among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window.
La Liga adventure beckons?
Sevilla’s interest in Nathan Patterson makes sense. The Andalusian giants have been combing the market for a right-back heading into the winter transfer window, as they are in a spot of bother over Juanlu Sanchez’s long-term future. Interestingly, the Spanish full-back has been a target for Everton, and several high-profile clubs are interested in him.
With Juanlu’s long-term future likely to be away from Sevilla, Los Nervionenses will aim to sign a right-back in the winter transfer window. Several candidates have thus emerged on the relegation-threatened La Liga club’s wishlist, with Patterson also a viable target.
