Callum Wilson has been linked with a move away from West Ham United in recent weeks, with Celtic keen on securing his services.
Callum Wilson has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining West Ham United, and he has not had too many opportunities under Nuno Espirito Santo either. Naturally, there has been speculation surrounding his future at the club.
However, the striker proved his critics wrong with an excellent strike against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend. He scored an injury-time goal to help his team pick up all three points away from home. It was a vital win for West Ham, and it will certainly help them in their fight for survival.
Meanwhile, manager Nuno Espirito Santo was asked about the veteran English striker’s future after the game and whether he will move on this month. He addressed the speculations as “rumours”, and suggested that he is very happy with the performance of Callum Wilson and that the player has an important role at the club.
Nuno said, “I’m so happy for him. It means a lot. We are still in the market to bring in players. We need to re-balance our squad. Rumours, rumours, rumours. We are doing things properly. Every player that is in the building I give them the day off tomorrow. We count on them and support them. They need to help us.”

What next for Wilson?
It will be interesting to see if West Ham United are prepared to keep Callum Wilson at the club until the end of the season. There have been rumours that he is a target for Celtic. They will be able to provide him with regular opportunities, and moving to Scotland could be an exciting opportunity for him.
The Englishman is at the twilight stages of his career, and he will not want to sit on the bench at the London club. He needs to play regularly at this stage of his career. West Ham United have invested in a couple of strikers during the January window, and it seems unlikely that Wilson will be a regular starter for them. It would make sense for him to move on before the window closes.
