Aston Villa will reportedly look to sign 25-year-old Italian international Moise Kean from relegation-threatened Serie A club Fiorentina in the winter transfer window.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Moise Kean is the subject of interest from Aston Villa. The Villans are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the winter transfer window. So, the 25-year-old Fiorentina centre-forward has emerged as a target for the West Midlands outfit.
The latest report has revealed that the Premier League high-flyers “have begun to make a decisive move for the Fiorentina striker” as they look to seal a deal this month. However, the Vercelli-born striker, who has a release clause worth €62 million in his contract with La Viola, has no interest in leaving the relegation-threatened Serie A club in the winter transfer window.
How has Moise Kean fared at Fiorentina?
Moise Kean has resurrected his fortunes since joining Fiorentina from Juventus in July 2024. The 25-year-old had lost his way after ending his first spell with Juventus, as he struggled to make his mark at Everton and Paris Saint-Germain. However, moving to Florence helped him rediscover his best form in the 2024/25 season, as he often scored goals for fun last term.
But the Italian international has endured a frustrating 2025/26 campaign, as he has managed six goals and three assists in 24 appearances across all competitions. Kean’s inconsistencies have played a role in Fiorentina’s woes, as they are flirting with relegation from Serie A. However, the striker’s stock remains high, with Aston Villa among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window.
Premier League return on the horizon?
Moise Kean has been on Aston Villa’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as the Villans have been scouring the market for a versatile attacker heading into the winter transfer window. Aston Villa’s overdependence on Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers may prove costly as the games come thick and fast in the second half of the 2025/26 season.
Several candidates, including Tammy Abraham, have thus emerged on the West Midlands club’s wishlist, with Kean also a viable target. The latest report has revealed that the Premier League high-flyers “have begun to make a decisive move for the Fiorentina striker” as they look to seal a deal this month.
However, a deal may not be straightforward, as the 25-year-old Italian international, who has a release clause worth €62 million in his contract with La Viola, has no interest in leaving the relegation-threatened Serie A club in the winter transfer window. It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa can turn Kean’s head in the coming weeks.
