West Ham United submit offer to sign Rafiu Durosinmi

West Ham United have made a bid worth £12 million for Nigerian striker and Viktoria Plzen star Rafiu Durosinmi, but face competition for the attacker.

According to Football Insider, Viktoria Plzen striker Rafiu Durosinmi is a target for West Ham, as the Londoners have launched a £12 million bid to sign the Nigerian. The 22-year-old African striker has been in good goalscoring form this season for the Czech side, as the Hammers now face competition for his signature.

West Ham have a firm agenda on their mind, which leans towards bringing in a new striker in the upcoming January window. Nuno Espirito Santo faces a race to finish outside the relegation zone, and will need his forward to score plenty of goals if the team seeks a good chance to avoid the drop.

At the moment, senior strikers Callum Wilson and Niclas Fullkrug are misfiring, with the latter now widely expected to depart, with AC Milan being heavily linked. West Ham have already been looking into the market for new striker options, including Lazio’s Valentin Castellanos, among others.

Wolves star Jorgen Strand Larsen is also on their list, while they had previously enquired about Joshua Zirkzee as an option. The Hammers were also offered Artem Dovbyk, and remain in contention for the AS Roma star should the Italians manage to sign Zirkzee in the process.

A new name has emerged on their list, and surprisingly enough, it is a certain Rafiu Dorusinmi from the Czech side Viktoria Plzen. The attacker, with a good record this season, has caught the attention of not only West Ham but also Stuttgart and Lazio in the process, as the Londoners may have to compete with the two continental sides for his signature.

West Ham leading the Rafiu Dorusinmi race?

As things stand, the Hammers have launched a £12 million bid for the signature of Dorusinmi, with the 22-year-old African striker now seen as a key target. West Ham are hoping to conclude the deal, although given his form of late, Plzen might demand a bit more than the offer on the table.

There’s no clarity whether the Hammers are pursuing the 22-year-old African striker as their primary target, given his lack of exposure in one of the top five leagues. However, West Ham have had a recent good track record of signing players from the Czech league, including summer arrival El Hadji Malick Diouf, while previously they have had success with the arrivals of Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek, for example.
