Everton have entered the race for the signature of Sevilla defensive sensation Juanlu Sanchez, who will cost around €20 million.
Sevilla haven’t had the best of starts to the new season, and they are looking at the winter transfer window as an opportunity to reinforce their squad. But before they can push for potential new arrivals, the Spanish club needs to cash in on a few of their players.
They are considering parting ways with Juanlu Sanchez, who is on the wishlist of quite a few top clubs. According to a report from Estadio Deportivo, Everton are interested in the Spanish youth international. The Toffees will have to fork out €20 million to sign the young full-back, who has had a sensational rise at Sevilla.
The 22-year-old has established himself as a key figure in the La Liga outfit’s first team. Over the years, he has been involved in 90 matches and has contributed towards 15 goals. In the ongoing campaign, he has been involved in 16 matches across competitions and has put in consistent performances throughout.
Sanchez’s time at Sevilla could end soon
While his contract at Sevilla runs until the summer of 2029, the Spanish club seem willing to cash in on him. They were ready to sanction his departure last summer as well. He was on the verge of joining Napoli, but the move eventually collapsed.
He ended up staying at the club and has had a prominent role in the team. While the 22-year-old has done a decent job, he hasn’t really lived up to the expectations, and it has resulted in a lot of talk about his future.
Sanchez could be heading to the Premier League
Sanchez was keen on moving to Italy during the summer window, but it seems he could be heading to the Premier League in 2026, as Everton have emerged as a potential destination. The Toffees seek more quality on the right flank and believe the Spanish full-back could help their cause.
He could prove to be a great acquisition for the long run. The Merseyside club have concrete interest in Sanchez, who will be available for €20 million. Since Sevilla have no intentions of lowering their demands, it will be interesting to see if Everton are willing to meet them.
