Crystal Palace eyeing Vanderson as Daniel Munoz cover

Crystal Palace will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old Brazilian international Vanderson from Ligue 1 club AS Monaco in the winter transfer window.

According to an update by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Vanderson is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit by signing a new right wing-back in the winter transfer window. So, the 24-year-old AS Monaco full-back has emerged as a target for the South London outfit.

The 2024/25 FA Cup winners have had to dip their toes in the market for a new right wing-back, as Daniel Munoz has sustained a knee injury that will keep him in the treatment room for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, other candidates, including Sacha Boey and Wilfried Singo, are also on Crystal Palace’s wishlist for the winter transfer window.

How has Vanderson fared at AS Monaco?

Vanderson has established himself as one of the most dependable full-backs in Ligue 1 since joining AS Monaco from Gremio in January 2022. The 24-year-old took some time to get going at the Monegasque outfit, but he has not looked back since establishing a foothold in the senior setup.

The Brazilian international has made nearly 150 appearances thus far for AS Monaco while chipping in with eight goals and 16 assists. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Crystal Palace will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the winter transfer window.

London calling?

Crystal Palace’s interest in Vanderson is understandable. The Eagles are scouring the market for a right-back heading into the winter transfer window, as they have lost Daniel Munoz for the foreseeable future due to a knee injury. While Nathaniel Clyne is deputising for the Colombian international, the veteran Englishman is not the solution for the long haul.

Several candidates, including Sacha Boey, have thus emerged on Crystal Palace’s wishlist, with the AS Monaco wide player also a viable target. Meanwhile, Wilfried Singo is the priority target for the South London outfit, and they have been monitoring him for several weeks.

As for Vanderson, the Brazilian international has also piqued the attention of several other Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur. It will be interesting to see if the 24-year-old AS Monaco wide player joins Crystal Palace in the coming weeks.
