Manchester United closely monitoring George Shepherd

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Coventry City teenage sensation George Shepherd.

According to Graeme Bailey, Manchester United are interested in the services of George Shepherd. Following his sensational rise at Coventry City, the Red Devils are closely monitoring the midfield sensation and could soon make a move for his services.

Shepherd has come up the ranks at Coventry City, and he is currently a part of their Under-18 side. Despite being just 15, the English midfield sensation is already knocking on the doors of the first team.

The teenage prospect has already been spotted on the bench of the senior team on a few occasions, and given his sensational rise, Frank Lampard could soon hand him his professional debut. Being on the cusp of the first team is already impressive, and the fact that he is pushing to be a part of the best team in the Championship makes it even more exciting.

The teenage sensation has made quite a name for himself with his impressive performances at the youth level. George Shepherd is being compared to his manager, Lampard, in terms of his playing style. Shepherd has great off-the-ball work rate, and he is someone who likes to break into the box.

Manchester United scout Coventry gem Shepherd

The Coventry City gem now finds himself on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs in the country. Manchester United are one of the clubs that are keeping tabs on George Shepherd, and they could soon make a move to bring him to the Premier League.

Having missed the chance of signing Jude Bellingham from Birmingham City back in the day, Manchester United want to ensure they do not miss out on another generational talent. They really admire Shepherd, and if he continues to develop in similar fashion, they will be ready to battle the biggest clubs for his signature.

Coventry City are certain to make a significant profit on him, but with multiple top clubs interested, Manchester United are not guaranteed to win the race for his signature. The opportunity to join a club as big as Manchester United will certainly tempt the young midfielder.
