Joshua Zirkzee unhappy at Manchester United, to push for exit

Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly unhappy at Manchester United and wants to depart from Old Trafford in the winter transfer window, with the Red Devils open to sanctioning his exit.

According to a report by Football Insider, Joshua Zirkzee is increasingly unhappy about the lack of game time coming his way under Ruben Amorim. The Dutch attacker is ready to call time on his Manchester United spell in the winter transfer window, with Serie A clubs Como and Juventus among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

Meanwhile, a report by Caught Offside has revealed that the struggling Premier League giants are open to parting ways with Zirkzee in the winter transfer window. Manchester United will sanction the Dutchman’s departure if suitors pay €35-40 million to sign him. Additionally, they are ready to sell him if they can procure a long-term replacement.

Joshua Zirkzee and his Manchester United misery

Joshua Zirkzee has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Manchester United from Bologna last summer. The 24-year-old arrived at Old Trafford amid hype and fanfare surrounding him after an impressive 2023/24 campaign with Benfica. However, the player has struggled to make his mark throughout his spell with the Premier League club thus far.

The Dutch attacker’s involvement has dwindled under Ruben Amorim, and he has managed only 82 minutes of game time in four appearances thus far in the 2025/26 season. However, the Netherlands international remains a hot property in the market, with Como and Juventus among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the winter transfer window.

Serie A return on the horizon?

Joshua Zirkzee has been on Juventus’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as Dusan Vlahovic faces an uncertain future at the Allianz Stadium. The Serbian striker has entered the final 12 months of his contract with the Serie A club, and a winter departure may be on the cards amid his links with Manchester United.

As for Como, it is hardly surprising that the Serie A upstarts are keen on signing Zirkzee, as they have heavily reinforced their squad in the last few transfer windows. So, the 24-year-old Dutchman, who has become increasingly unhappy at Manchester United, has emerged as a viable target for Como.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will be open to parting ways with Zirkzee for around €35-40 million, with the player pushing for a winter exit. It will be interesting to see if the versatile Dutch attacker returns to Serie A in the winter transfer window.
