Leeds United in transfer tussle to sign Gustavo Prado, line up bid

Leeds United will reportedly look to sign 20-year-old Brazilian winger Gustavo Prado from Internacional next year.

According to an update by well-known Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Gustavo Prado is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the next two transfer windows. So, the 20-year-old Internacional winger has emerged as a target for the newly promoted Premier League clubs.

However, the 2024/25 EFL Championship winners face stiff competition from Atalanta and VfB Stuttgart for the South American attacker’s signature. All three clubs are ready to submit a bid worth €20 million to sign Prado from Internacional next year.

Who is Gustavo Prado?

Gustavo Prado is the latest promising attacking prospect to rise in prominence in his homeland. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 2005, the 20-year-old winger spent his formative years in Brazil and graduated from the youth division at Sport Club Internacional. While the youngster has yet to become a first-choice starter for Clube de Povo, he has been a regular off the bench.

The Brazilian winger has made over 50 appearances thus far for Internacional while chipping in with three goals and one assist. Meanwhile, Prado’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs in Europe. Leeds United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature next year.

Will Prado move to Europe soon?

Leeds United’s interest in Gustavo Prado is understandable. Recent reports have claimed that the Whites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing an attacking midfielder and a winger in the winter transfer window. Since then, several candidates have emerged on Leeds United’s wishlist in the last few weeks.

The West Yorkshire outfit wanted to sign Harry Wilson from Fulham in the summer transfer window, and the Welsh winger remains on the newly promoted Premier League club’s wishlist. However, Prado is also a viable target for Leeds United, with the 2024/25 EFL Championship winners ready to pay €20 million to secure his services.
