Everton and Juventus are reportedly interested in sealing summer deals to sign 22-year-old Portuguese international Francisco Conceicao from FC Porto this summer.
According to a report by Record, as relayed by Sport Witness, Francisco Conceicao is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 22-year-old FC Porto winger has emerged as a target for the Merseyside outfit.
The Premier League club submitted a bid worth €30 million, thought to be the young winger’s release clause, to sign him from FC Porto. However, Conceicao has snubbed Everton, with Pini Zahavi and Jorge Mendes at loggerheads over the player’s situation. Meanwhile, a return to Juvenuts may be on the cards, while his clause has increased to €45 million.
Francisco Conceicao and his career so far
Francisco Conceicao has reached a crossroads in his career for the first time, having returned to FC Porto after his loan spell with Juventus ended. A native of Coimbra, the 22-year-old spent his formative years in Portugal and graduated from the youth division at FC Porto.
The Portuguese international spent the 2024/25 season with Juventus, chipping in with seven goals and six assists in nearly 50 appearances for the Bianconeri. While Conceicao has returned to FC Porto, the Serie A giants are keen on bringing him back to the Allianz Stadium. However, they face stiff competition from Everton for the youngster’s signature in the summer transfer window.
What next?
Everton’s interest in Francisco Conceicao is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a wide attacker this summer after choosing not to complete permanent moves for Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom. While they are mulling over re-signing Harrison from Leeds United, they may pursue another winger.
Several candidates, including Takefusa Kubo, have emerged on Everton’s radar, with Conceicao also a viable target. The Merseyside outfit recently submitted a bid worth €30 million to FC Porto, thinking they had triggered his release clause. However, the young winger has snubbed Everton, as he “has a different career path in mind”.
Pini Zahavi took the bid worth €30 million to FC Porto, but Jorge Mendes represents Conceicao. The two super-agents are at loggerheads, while the release clause in his contract has increased to €45 million. So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 22-year-old Portuguese international.
