Vanderson to replace Alexander-Arnold

If the Reds fail to land Jeremie Frimpong, Hughes could turn his attention towards Vanderson, who is also a part of his shortlist. The 23-year-old is considered an ideal alternative to Frimpong. The Brazilian international has a strong defensive base, and he can certainly contribute in the final third.

More importantly, his known for his work rate and could easily slot into Slot’s system that relies on a lot of pressing. While the Reds do have Conor Bradley in their squad and he can replace Alexander-Arnold in the long run, they want a more experienced option. Slot seeks more quality and depth, as a result, they could look to sign Vanderson if they miss out on Frimpong.
