Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are interested in acquiring the services of Liverpool and Manchester United full-back target Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Rayan Ait-Nouri has made quite a name for himself with his consistent performances for Wolves. He has placed himself on the wishlist of quite a few top clubs from across Europe, and they are gearing up to make a move ahead of next season.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Arsenal are keen on signing the Algerian international. While they are plotting a raid on Wolves, the Gunners could face competition from rivals Manchester United and Liverpool.
Ait-Nouri joined Wolves towards the end of 2020. While he initially joined them on a short loan deal, the move was made permanent in the summer of 2021, and he hasn’t looked back since.
Not only has he established himself as one of the mainstays in their team, but the 23-year-old is considered to be one of the best young full-backs in the Premier League. His consistent performances haven’t gone unnoticed, and quite a few clubs will knock on Wolves’ door in the next summer window.
While they would love to have him around for a few more years, they haven’t been doing great this season, and the report suggests a few of their key players could now end up leaving the club. Ait-Nouri could be one of them, and Arsenal are believed to be one of the clubs that are keen on signing him.
Ait-Nouri looks set for the next step in his career
The Gunners have a long-standing interest in him and are gearing up to make a move. Mikel Arteta certainly has no shortage of options at left-back, but the potential departure of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney could make room for a new signing.
They are well aware of his massive potential and do not want to lose out on the 23-year-old who is expected to be available for a fee of around €60 million. The Gunners will have to battle it out with rivals United and Liverpool.
While the Red Devils have added Patrick Dorgu to their squad in the winter, they are still looking to add more quality on the left flanks as Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw’s future remains uncertain. With Dorgu capable enough to feature on either flank, Amorim would love another top-quality option on the left.
Meanwhile, the Merseyside club have also been monitoring the young full-back for a while now. Andrew Robertson might only be 30, but he hasn’t really been at his best for some time. As a result, the Reds want to add more quality on the left flank, and Ait-Nouri could be a great signing for the short and the long run.
