Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly tracking the progress of 18-year-old Scottish attacking prodigy Ryan One at EFL Championship club Sheffield United.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Ryan One has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs with his exploits for Sheffield United. Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are among the Sheffield United’s prodigy’s prospective suitors, with the two Premier League outfits closely monitoring his progress at the EFL Championship club.
Who is Ryan One?
Ryan One has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the EFL Championship since breaking into the first-team squad at Sheffield United. A native of Coatbridge, the teenage sensation began his youth career in Scotland, passing through the academies at Dunbeth FC and Hamilton Academical.
However, One’s youth career ended in England after he joined Sheffield United in September 2023. The 18-year-old made his first-team bow in the first half of the 2023/24 season, and his stature has grown in the last 15 months at the EFL Championship club.
The Scottish attacking prodigy has turned out 13 times thus far for Sheffield United while chipping in with one goal. Meanwhile, One’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known Premier League clubs. Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are among the youngster’s prospective suitors.
Premier League bound soon?
Ryan One has been on Liverpool’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, considering Darwin Nunez faces an uncertain future at the Merseyside club. So, Liverpool can recruit the Sheffield United prodigy and allow him time to grow before he becomes the first-choice striker.
As for Tottenham, Dominic Solanke is the only out-and-out striker in the first-team squad at the North London club. While Richarlison can play as a centre-forward, he faces an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. So, One has emerged as a viable target for the Lilywhites.
Apart from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton & Hove Albion are also keen on signing the Scottish attacking prodigy after closely monitoring him at Sheffield United. It will be interesting to see if the 18-year-old ends his stint with the EFL Championship club and moves to the Premier League anytime soon.
