Juventus make approach for Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga

Thiago Motta’s Juventus have knocked on the doors of Chelsea for their out-of-favour duo Ben Chilwell and Renato Veiga.

Juventus are pushing hard to reinforce their backline in the ongoing transfer window. The Serie A giants want to bring in a new left-back and according to a report from TEAMtalk, the Old Lady have enquired about Chelsea duo Ben Chilwell and Renato Veiga. While they have asked for more information on the duo, the Turin-based outfit are only looking to sign one of them.

Chilwell and Veiga’s uncertain future

Chilwell is no longer an important part of Chelsea’s first-team plans. They were looking to offload him in the last summer window but things didn’t go according to plan back then. The English international has only made one appearance in the entire first half of 2024/25, which is a clear indication of his status in the team.

The 28-year-old is looking for an ideal destination, and the Blues are ready to sanction his departure. Juventus were linked with the Chelsea left-back a few months back, and they have now reignited their interest in him.

The Old Lady are also looking at his teammate Renato Veiga as another option to bolster the left side of their defence. The 21-year-old Portuguese full-back has been involved in a total of 18 games racking up just over 1,100 minutes.

The former FC Basel star who arrived at Stamford Bridge in the last summer window is not happy with the fact that he has started just one Premier League game so far. The Portuguese utility man is growing frustrated by the situation, and he is open to a move away in the ongoing transfer window.

Juventus could sign one of the Chelsea full-backs

Juventus have contacted Chelsea to learn more about a potential move for the duo. They are looking to bring in a new left-back on a priority basis, and both Chilwell and Veiga are a part of their wishlist. The Serie A giants’ first-choice left-back, Andrea Cambiaso has been linked with a move to Manchester City.

If Pep Guardiola’s team manage to secure his services, Juventus will ramp up their efforts to bring in a replacement. While they are interested in both Chelsea left-backs, they will only look to bring any one of them.

Irrespective of who they push for, the Old Lady are eyeing a loan deal and can only offer a buy option at the very best. The Bianconeri do not want to commit to a permanent transfer at this stage.
