West Ham United front-runners to sign Vaclav Cerny

West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing 27-year-old Czech winger Vaclav Cerny in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Vaclav Cerny is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window. So, the Rangers winger has emerged as a target, with the East London club in the pole position to secure his services.

Who is Vaclav Cerny?

Vaclav Cerny has established himself as one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership since joining Rangers on loan from Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg. A native of Příbram, he spent most of his formative years in Czechia but graduated from the youth division at Ajax.

Since then, the 27-year-old winger has turned out for Ajax, FC Twente, FC Utrecht, VfL Wolfsburg, and Rangers. Cerny’s loan stint has been excellent thus far, with the player contributing to 19 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net 12 times and providing seven assists.

Meanwhile, Cerny’s progress at the Scottish Premiership club has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. West Ham United and Villarreal are keen on signing the Czech winger, with the Hammers the front-runners to secure his services in the summer transfer window.

London calling?

West Ham United’s interest in Vaclav Cerny is understandable. The Hammers are scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window. While Crysencio Summerville is a long-term solution and Jarrod Bowen barely puts a foot wrong, West Ham can do with another wide attacker.

So, several candidates, including Antony, have emerged on West Ham United’s radar. However, Cerny is also a viable target for the East London club, with the Hammers ahead of Villarreal in the race to secure his services in the summer transfer window.

Considering the Czech winger’s productivity, he can be a top-notch addition to West Ham’s offensive department. It will be interesting to see if the Hammers beat the competition to the signature of the 27-year-old attacker in the coming months.
