Premier League giants Liverpool are reportedly walking away from the deal to sign 23-year-old Georgian attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Serie A club Napoli.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the subject of interest from Liverpool. The Reds are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez. However, they have ruled out a winter move as the Napoli forward closes in on joining Paris Saint-Germain.
The rising stock of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Napoli from Dinamo Batumi in July 2022. While the youngster was a revelation in his debut season with the Partenopei and played his part in the club’s Serie A title triumph in his debut season, he has blown hot and cold since the start of the 2023/24 season.
The inconsistencies have continued this term, with the 23-year-old managing only five goals and three assists in 19 appearances across all competitions. However, that has not affected Kvaratskhelia’s stock in the market, with several high-profile clubs across Europe setting their sights on him.
Meanwhile, Antonio Conte has confirmed this week that Kvaratskhelia wants to leave Napoli and embark on a new adventure. So, the Serie A giants are ready to cash in on the Georgian international, with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain among his prospective suitors this month.

Liverpool’s interest in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia makes sense. The Reds are scouring the market for a new attacker amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez. So, the Napoli forward has emerged as a viable target, although Liverpool and other Premier League clubs are being PSG in the race to secure his services.
Speaking of PSG, the Ligue 1 champions have blown hot and cold in the final third since Kylian Mbappe called time on his stint at Parc des Princes. While Bradley Barcola has been superb, the other attackers have been inconsistent. So, Kvaratskhelia is a viable target for PSG, with Napoli demanding €80 million to sell him.
PSG will look to reduce the Serie A club’s asking price of €80 million by offering a player in the deal to sign Kvaratskhelia. However, Liverpool will not compete with Les Parisiens for the signature of the 23-year-old Georgian international, who will likely move to Paris this month.
