Crystal Palace will reportedly look to sign 19-year-old Senegalese wing-back prodigy El Hadji Malick Diouf from Slavia Praha in the January transfer window.
According to a report by Daily Mail, El Hadji Malick Diouf is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are scouring the market for a new left wing-back heading into the January transfer window. So, the 19-year-old Slavia Praha prodigy has emerged as a target for the South London club.
Who is El Hadji Malick Diouf?
El Hadji Malick Diouf is the latest prospect from his homeland to rise in prominence. A native of Ziguinchor, the African wonderkid spent most of his formative years thus far in his homeland but has been in Europe since February 2023. The youngster was with Tromso IL for a year before joining Slavia Praha earlier this year in the winter transfer window.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed an excellent 2024/25 campaign thus far, chipping in with six goals and three assists in 28 appearances across all competitions. Meanwhile, Diouf’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe.
A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Crystal Palace among his prospective suitors heading into the January transfer window. The report by Daily Mail has suggested that the Eagles are ready to “accelerate their interest” in the Senegalese wing-back prodigy.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Crystal Palace’s interest in El Hadji Malick Diouf is understandable. The Eagles are scouring the market for a new left wing-back heading into the January transfer window. While Tyrick Mitchell has been exceptional for the South London club, they are in a spot of bother over his long-term future due to his expiring contract.
In addition, Mitchell has emerged as a target for several European bigwigs, including Arsenal, FC Barcelona, and Tottenham Hotspur. So, Crystal Palace should invest in a promising left wing-back, with Malick Diouf emerging as a viable target for the Premier League club.
The report has suggested that Oliver Glasner has placed a new left-sided defender at the top of his January shopping list. So, Crystal Palace will intensify the efforts to sign the 19-year-old Senegalese international from Slavia Praha next year.
