Leicester City keen on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall move

Leicester City are angling a move to re-sign Kiernan Dewsbuty-Hall in January, although Chelsea’s asking price could prohibit a permanent deal.

According to Football Insider, Leicester City are keen to bring Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall back to the club ahead of the January window. The Foxes are looking to take advantage of the midfielder’s current situation at Chelsea, although his asking price may end up prohibiting a permanent deal in the winter market.

Chelsea have had to spend a great deal of money to have the luxury of a big squad, brimming with quality. It’s not surprising that many of their players are not getting regular chances to play in the first team, as Enzo Maresca could make some strong decisions on a few ahead of the January window.

Maresca and Chelsea have planned some things very intricately so far this season, as the Italian manager has used a specific set of players for the Premier League and others for other competitions. For instance, many fringe stars are regulars in Conference League games, although the same stars are not getting enough game time in the Premier League.

One such player is Kiernan Dewsbuiry-Hall, who has been a regular in Europe while managing only 55 minutes of Premier League action. The former Leicester City star was signed in the summer by Maresca, who managed the midfielder at the Foxes last season, and early indications pointed at him being a regular at Chelsea. However, that has not been the case.

Some reports emerging in recent times have suggested Chelsea could sell Dewsbury-Hall in the January window, as the midfielder could have a good market. The Blues reportedly want £30 million, which is a similar price they paid Leicester City in the summer. There are a few teams that will show an interest, with Aston Villa being keen, as well as former side Leicester City.

Leicester City want to re-sign Dewsbury-Hall

Leicester City have not replaced the void left by Dewsbury-Hall with the right player in the summer despite signing Oliver Skipp. With the Chelsea 2024 signing now reportedly available, it would make sense for them to angle a move for their former star. However, Chelsea’s asking price may prove prohibitive in this operation to sign him on a permanent basis, meaning a loan approach could be on the cards.

A player of Dewsbury-Hall would be a steady signing by Leicester, even on loan, as he instantly gives new manager Ruud van Nistelrooy’s midfield a boost. Their form under the Dutchman has indicated the Foxes have what it takes to stay up in the Premier League, as bringing in the Chelsea man will be a massive boost in that regard.
