Sheffield United keen on Tyler Morton

Sheffield United are emerging as big suitors to take Tyler Morton from Liverpool in the January window, as a loan move is planned for the midfielder.

According to The Sun, Sheffield United are eying a loan move for Liverpool’s squad player Tyler Morton. The Blades are looking for solutions to replace injured midfielder Oli Arbastar and view Morton’s vast experience in the Championship as an opportunity ahead of the January market.

Tyler Morton may not have used the summer window’s opportunities wisely, but he somehow managed to stay at Liverpool beyond the deadline. The 22-year-old midfielder has spent the last two seasons in the Championship, playing 40 times for Blackburn Rovers in the second tier.

Arne Slot has yet to find a place for the 22-year-old Liverpool prodigy, as the manager has only restricted Morton from playing in Carabao Cup games. There are certainly minutes in this long season, but so far, the midfielder has yet to manage to convince the Dutchman.

In any case, there were opportunities back in the summer, as Bayer Leverkusen were surprise suitors at some point, but a move never materialised. Liverpool were open to selling him, and it might have been the case that the club asked for a lot of money and that no suitor decided to pay up.

The decision to stay might also have come from the player, who might have sensed an opportunity to impress Arne Slot. In total, the 22-year-old Liverpool prodigy has managed 11 appearances over the years for the first team, and it might be time for him to leave.

Sheffield United interested in signing Tyler Morton

Morton’s experience in the Championship could see Sheffield United make a move for the midfielder. The Blades are eager to find a solution for the injured Oli Arblaster in their squad. The report states they could come in with a loan offer for the midfielder, as Liverpool might look to cash in on a permanent basis.

The report does not indicate that Sheffield United is looking at Morton on a permanent basis, as, again, the price tag associated with a sale could be a problem. As for the midfielder, it could be his chance to leave the Merseysiders for a return to the Championship and get back to playing regular football.
