Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United vying for Matteo Ruggeri

Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing Atalanta defender Matteo Ruggeri.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City are keeping tabs on 22-year-old Atalanta left-back Matteo Ruggeri, and they could look to make a move for him in the near future.

It is no surprise that Liverpool are looking at the young defender, and they should look to secure his signature in the coming months. Andrew Robertson is in the twilight stages of his career, and he has been quite mediocre in the recent months. Liverpool will need to replace him soon, and the 22-year-old Italian would be a quality long-term investment.

Matteo Ruggeri has shown his quality with Atalanta, and he has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in English football as well. The youngster could be a quality replacement for the Scottish international, and he could establish himself as a player for Liverpool.

They are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the opportunity to join them could be quite exciting for Ruggeri. He would get to compete for major trophies with them as well. However, other left-backs, including Antonee Robinson, are also on their radar.

Manchester United and Man City need Ruggeri

Manchester United need a left-back as well. Luke Shaw has had his fair share of injury problems, and he cannot be relied upon. Even though the England international is a quality player on his day, his availability is simply unacceptable at this level, and Manchester United need to look at other alternatives.

It will be interesting to see if they can beat Liverpool and Manchester City to the signing of the 22-year-old Italian international. They are likely to be an attractive destination for the player as well. Finally, Manchester City have been using Josko Gvardiol as their left-back in recent months.

The Croatian international is more suited to the role of a central defender and Pep Guardiola should look to bring in a specialist left-back in the coming months. Signing the Italian could prove to be a wise decision. It remains to be seen how the situation develops. All three clubs have the finances to get the deal done, and it will be interesting to see if Atalanta are prepared to sanction his departure for a reasonable price.
