Premier League giants Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are all keen on signing French goalkeeping sensation Lucas Chevalier.
Lucas Chevalier’s impressive rise at LOSC Lille hasn’t gone unnoticed. According to a report from TBR, Manchester United and Tottenham are keeping a close eye on the French shot-stopper ahead of a potential move and Chelsea are also keen on his signature.
Chevalier has been a part of the Lille setup since 2014. While he got promoted to their first team back in 2020, he officially became their number one following an impressive loan spell at Valenciennes FC during the 2021/22 season.
He already has 98 appearances for the first team and has kept a total of 38 clean sheets. The 23-year-old has gone from strength to strength in recent months and he has established himself as one of the best young goalkeepers in the world.
His recent heroics in the Champions League against Real Madrid certainly attracted a lot of attention and he was rewarded for his performances with a call-up to the French national team for the Nations League fixtures. While he is yet to make his debut, Chevalier is certainly on the right track.
Chevalier to move to the Premier League?
While his contract at Lille runs until the summer of 2027, he is unlikely to be around for a long time as some of the biggest clubs in England are keeping a close eye on him. Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United are all interested in his services and they have been closely monitoring his progress.
Robert Sanchez has been doing a great job in between the stick for Enzo Maresca’s team and the Blues even added Filip Jorgensen to their squad in the summer. Despite that, the club’s hierarchy continues to assess options to further bolster that position and they have been scouting Chevalier this season.
The London club will face competition from United as well as Spurs. While both clubs are happy with their first-choice shot-stoppers Andre Onana and Guglielmo Vicario, they are still monitoring the French goalkeeper in case they need to bring in a new shot-stopper.
Both clubs want to be kept informed on the best young goalkeeper in the world and if they decide to make a change in goal, the Lille shot-stopper will be their top priority.
