Aston Villa ready to pay €15 million to sign Harry Amass

Aston Villa will be happy to cough up €15 million to sign 17-year-old English whizkid Harry Amass from Manchester United.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Harry Amass is the subject of interest from Aston Villa. The Villans view the Manchester United whizkid as a “strategic option to strengthen their squad in the medium term”. In addition, they are willing to fork out €15 million to sign the 17-year-old full-back from their fellow Premier League club.

Who is Harry Amass?

Harry Amass has established himself as one of the best young prospects in his homeland in the last few years. A native of London, the teenage prospect has spent most of his formative years thus far in his home city, turning out for Watford between 2016 and 2023. However, he has been with Manchester United since August 2023.

The 17-year-old has rapidly progressed through the ranks at Manchester United and currently represents the club’s reserve side. However, Amass has yet to make his first-team bow for the Red Devils, even though he has trained with the senior setup for a long time.

While the English youth international’s stock at Manchester United is high, other clubs will look to prise him away from Old Trafford if his first-team debut eludes him. Recent reports have claimed that Aston Villa will be one of the prospective suitors to sign Amass from Manchester United.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Aston Villa’s interest in Harry Amass is perplexing. The West Midlands outfit signed a left-back in the summer transfer window, with Ian Maatsen arriving from Chelsea. In addition, Lucas Digne is the first-choice left-back in the Premier League, with Maatsen assuming duties in the UEFA Champions League and cup games.

Nevertheless, Amass features on Aston Villa’s wishlist, with the West Midlands club ready to cough up €15 million to sign the young full-back from Manchester United. However, it is unclear if the Red Devils are willing to part ways with the teenage sensation for the meagre sum.

In addition, considering the 17-year-old English prodigy’s potential and contract situation, Manchester United can easily recoup more than €15 million to sell him. So, Aston Villa might face a tall order to land Amass next year.
