Premier League heavyweights Liverpool have reportedly officially registered interest in 25-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush.
According to a report by German outlet Sport BILD, Omar Marmoush is the subject of appeal from Liverpool. The Reds are scouring the market for a striker amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Darwin Nunez. So, the 25-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt attacker has emerged as a target, with the Merseyside club expressing interest in him.
Omar Marmoush and his rise at Eintracht Frankfurt
Omar Marmoush has made considerable progress since joining Eintracht Frankfurt from VfL Wolfsburg in a Bosman move in July 2023. He has been in Germany since 2017 but could not stamp his authority during his spell with Wolfsburg. However, he has not looked back in the last 15 months, going from strength to strength at the Deutsche Bank Park.
The 25-year-old was one of the most productive attackers in the Bundesliga last season and has continued in a similar vein in the first few weeks of the 2024/25 campaign. Marmoush has contributed to 18 goals in 13 appearances across all competitions thus far this term by finding the back of the net 11 times and providing seven assists.
Meanwhile, Marmoush’s progress at Eintracht Frankfurt has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Many Premier League bigwigs have shown an eagerness to land the Egyptian international, with Liverpool expressing interest in him.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Liverpool’s interest in Omar Marmoush is understandable. The Reds are scouring the market for a striker heading into the 2025 summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan international has not been the first-choice striker under Arne Slot and might embark on a new adventure next year.
So, several candidates, including Marmoush, have emerged on Liverpool’s radar. The Reds have already been in contact with the Egyptian striker’s entourage regarding a move next year. They have officially registered their interest in the Eintracht Frankfurt attacker with the Bundesliga club.
With Liverpool taking the first step to sign Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt, an official enquiry might be on the cards. It will be interesting to see if the 25-year-old leaves the Bundesliga club to move to Anfield next year.
