Brentford will reportedly look to price Bryan Mbeumo out of a winter move away from the Gtech Community Stadium amid his links with Arsenal and Liverpool.
According to a report by Football Insider, Bryan Mbeumo is the subject of interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. However, Brentford will look to price the Cameroonian international out of a possible move in the January transfer window. The Bees want around £60 million to part ways with their star attacker, and they believe they will not get that from the suitors this summer.
Bryan Mbeumo and his Brentford spell so far
Bryan Mbeumo has gone from strength to strength since joining Brentford from ESTAC Troyes in July 2019. Born in Avallon, he spent his formative years in France, passing through the academies at three French clubs and graduating from the youth division at ESTAC Troyes.
The 25-year-old played his part as Brentford secured promotion to the Premier League in 2021. Since then, Mbeumo has been a dependable performer in the top flight, with his performance levels improving with every season. The player has been one of the top scorers in the Premier League this term, scoring eight goals in nine appearances across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Mbeumo has picked Cameroon as his national side, with opportunities not coming his way with France. The player’s progress at Brentford has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several Premier League bigwigs, including Arsenal and Liverpool. However, the Bees want to price him out of a winter move, slapping a price tag worth £60 million.
Move across the Premier League on the cards?
Arsenal’s interest in Bryan Mbeumo is understandable. Mikel Arteta wants multiple top-notch options for every position, bringing the Brentford attacker into the picture. Considering Mbeumo can play across the frontline, he can be an option for every offensive position at Arsenal.
As for Liverpool, the Reds are in a spot of bother over the long-term future of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian international has entered the final nine months of his contract, and he has yet to commit his long-term future to the Merseyside club. So, Mbeumo is an option worth considering for Liverpool.
However, it is unclear if Arsenal and Liverpool will be ready to cough up £60 million to sign Mbeumo from Brentford. The Bees, who do not want to sell him, hope to price the 25-year-old Cameroonian international out of a winter move with their valuation.
