Thomas Frank open to replacing Erik ten Hag at Manchester United

Thomas Frank is reportedly open to taking over from Erik ten Hag at Manchester United if the Red Devils part ways with the Dutch manager.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Thomas Frank is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a top-quality manager amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Erik ten Hag. The Brentford boss is thus a top target, with the 51-year-old tactician open to replacing his Dutch counterpart at Old Trafford.

Thomas Frank has established himself as one of the most impressive managers in the Premier League since taking Brentford to the top flight. A native of Frederiksværk, the Dane did not enjoy a professional career as a footballer and has been in the managerial sphere since 1995.

The 51-year-old cut his teeth by taking charge of Denmark’s age-group teams for several years before joining Brondby in 2013. However, Frank’s stock has soared during his spell with Brentford, going from strength to strength since arriving at the Gtech Community Stadium in 2018.

Frank took Brentford to the Premier League in 2021 and has kept the West London club in the English top flight since then. With the Bees establishing themselves in the Premier League, Frank’s stock has skyrocketed, with several high-profile clubs, including Manchester United, setting their sights on him during their managerial search.

Manchester United’s interest in Thomas Frank is understandable. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a top-notch manager amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman would have hoped for a better campaign after a dreadful 2023/24 season that salvaged some pride with the FA Cup triumph.
