Bayern Munich will reportedly compete with Ligue 1 clubs Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille for resurgent 26-year-old Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Marcus Rashford is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. The Bavarian giants are scouring the market for a versatile attacker ahead of the two transfer windows next year. However, the Bundesliga heavyweights face stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille for the 26-year-old Manchester United forward.
Marcus Rashford and his rollercoaster career
Marcus Rashford has slowly found some form in the first few weeks of the 2024/25 season after a horrendous 2023/24 campaign. While the Englishman was unstoppable in Erik ten Hag’s debut season as the Manchester United manager, he has struggled for consistency in the last 15 months.
However, the 26-year-old has shown some promising signs thus far this term, contributing to seven goals in 12 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net four times and providing three assists. Meanwhile, Rashford’s form has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe, including Bayern Munich, Marseille, and PSG.
A man in demand, set for a move abroad?
Bayern Munich will likely dip into the market for an offensive reinforcement next year amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, and Kingsley Coman. Interestingly, Sane is a target for Manchester United, and it might not be surprising to see the German international swapping bases with his English counterpart.
Meanwhile, Marseille’s interest in Marcus Rashford is understandable. The Ligue 1 giants are scouring the market for a wide attacker, with Mykhailo Mudryk recently emerging as a target. Les Phoceens recently conducted business with Manchester United, signing new talisman Mason Greenwood in the summer transfer window.
As for PSG, they are yet to fill the void left by the departure of Kylian Mbappe in the summer transfer window. While Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola have stepped up, Luis Enrique needs more from his attackers. So, Rashford is an option worth considering for PSG.
It is unclear if Manchester United will be open to cashing in on Rashford next year amid his resurgent run this term. It will be interesting to see if Bayern Munich, Marseille, or PSG will land the 26-year-old English international.
