Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are quite optimistic about acquiring the services of Juventus attacking sensation Dusan Vlahovic.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Arsenal are hopeful about acquiring the services of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic on a cut-price fee next summer. The Serbian international’s contract renewal talks with the Turin-based club are not progressing well and if doesn’t pen a new deal, the Gunners could have an opportunity to sign him in what could be a bargain deal.
Vlahovic made a name for himself while playing for Fiorentina. His impressive rise and huge potential resulted in a move to Juventus in 2022. He has done a decent job for the Old Lady over the years. The 24-year-old has been involved in a total of 111 matches and he has contributed towards 58 goals (48 goals, 10 assists).
He has made an impressive start to the new campaign with seven goals and an assist in his ten outings. While he remains a key part of the Juventus first team, his future at the club doesn’t look certain. The Serbian ace’s contract runs until the summer of 2026 and the Turin-based are looking to secure his long-term future by agreeing on a new deal.
But, talks between the two clubs haven’t gone according to plan so far and if he doesn’t sign a new contract until the end of the season, things could get complicated next summer. Arsenal are the ones who are keeping a close eye on Vlahovic’s contract situation as they have a long-standing interest in him.
Arsenal could sign Vlahovic
The Gunners wanted to sign a new number nine last summer. Benjamin Sesko was their top target but things didn’t go according to plan. Their search for a new striker continues as Gabriel Jesus has struggled with injuries and he hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations.
While Kai Havertz has been filling as a striker, it isn’t his best position. Arteta’s team need an out-and-out goal scorer to help them challenge the best teams in Europe. Their shortlist consists of some of the best young strikers in the world and Vlahovic is also on that list.
There is a feeling that he could be available for a bargain fee next summer. If he enters the final 12 months of his contract at the Serie A club, they will be under pressure to sell him for around €60 million or possibly an even lower figure. While Vlahovic is not the priority option, a potential bargain deal could force Arsenal to make the most out of his situation at Juventus.
