Chelsea want more than €60 million for their defensive sensation Malo Gusto amidst interest in his services from PSG.
According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea will demand in excess of €60 million to sanction the departure of Malo Gusto. The French youth international’s impressive rise at Stamford Bridge has put him on the wishlist of PSG who seek defensive reinforcement. While the Ligue 1 giants are keen on signing him, they are unlikely to secure his services given the high asking price set by the Blues.
Gusto came up the ranks at Lyon and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team. His consistent performances along with his huge potential forced Chelsea to fork out €30 million to sign him at the start of 2023.
The Frenchman stayed at the Ligue 1 club for another six months before moving to London. The 21-year-old full-back has not looked back since arriving in England. With skipper Reece James struggling to stay fit, Gusto has established himself as a key part of their first team.
PSG want Gusto, Chelsea demand a massive fee
He has featured in 44 matches for them and has bagged 10 assists so far. The young right-back’s consistent performances have put him on the radar of quite a few top clubs. PSG are one of the clubs who have been linked with him of late.
The French giants are always on the lookout for players who can add more quality to their squad, and they feel Gusto could help them in the long run. As a result, they are looking to knock on Chelsea’s door for his signature.
The former Lyon star perfectly fits the bill for PSG as he is young and more importantly. The Ligue 1 champions want to have the best French players in their squad, and he has the potential to be one. But, they are not going to find it easy to sign him.
Chelsea have already slapped a massive asking price of €60 million as they intend to keep hold of their star full-backs. With his contract running until the summer of 2030, the Blues are well in control of the situation. As a result, PSG will be forced to look at other targets.
