Premier League heavyweights Liverpool are reportedly hopeful of keeping hold of at least two of Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah face an uncertain future at Liverpool FC ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window. However, the Reds are “calm and confident” about keeping hold of at least two of the exit-linked trio, with Alexander-Arnold a target for Real Madrid.
Liverpool’s terrific trio
Virgil van Dijk has been one of the best defenders in the world since joining Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018. The Dutchman made an immediate impact at the Merseyside club and has played his part in triumphant campaigns in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and other competitions.
On the other hand, Trent Aelxander-Arnold is a product of Liverpool’s fabled youth division. The Englishman broke into the first-team picture as a promising teenage prospect and has blossomed into a world-class right-back. As for Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian international has been with the Merseyside outfit since July 2017.
The 32-year-old has been one of the most productive attackers in the world throughout his spell with Liverpool and continues performing at a high level. Salah has amassed six goals and five assists in ten appearances across all competitions thus far this term. However, he faces an uncertain future at Anfield after entering the final year of his contract.
Will van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold, Salah leave Liverpool?
Like Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold face an uncertain future at the Merseyside club. While recent reports have claimed that the trio will prioritise signing new deals with Liverpool, time is running out for the Reds to secure the future of the exit-linked trio.
Alexander-Arnold is a target for Real Madrid, while Salah and van Dijk have suitors in Serie A and the Saudi Pro League. The latest update has suggested that the Reds are “calm and confident” about keeping hold of at least two of the three exit-linked players.
Widespread reports have suggested that Alexander-Arnold is the next Liverpool captain. So, it is hardly surprising that the Reds want to retain the Englishman’s services. Meanwhile, Salah and van Dijk remain pivotal figures despite their advancing years.
