Liverpool have been linked with a move for 24-year-old West United attacker Mohammed Kudus in recent weeks.
Mohammed Kudus has been outstanding for West Ham United since his move to the Premier League. But Fabrizio Romano has now revealed to Caught Offside that there is no truth to the player’s links with Liverpool and that a move is unlikely.
Romano wrote, “Similarly, with Kudus and Liverpool there is currently nothing concrete to report. There will be 100 links per day on Liverpool with Salah out of contract but Liverpool are not in discussions or planning any move yet, it’s just a moment where they explore the market and still talk to Salah about the contract. So nothing really concrete on Kudus now, it’s not an October/November topic for sure.”
Liverpool could certainly use a quality wide player like Kudus, and it remains to be seen whether they can bring in a player like him in the near future. The 24-year-old is capable of slotting into the wide areas as well as in the central areas.
Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah will be a free agent in the summer of 2025 if he does not sign a new contract, and Paris Saint-Germain are vying for his signature. So, Liverpool might need to start planning for a future without him. Kudus would have been a quality acquisition for them. He is well-settled in the Premier League, and he could have made an instant impact at Liverpool.
Kudus would be a useful option
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool turn their attention towards Kudus in the near future. It is fair to assume that the Ghanaian international will be an expensive acquisition. West Ham will not want to sell one of their best players easily.
Meanwhile, the opportunity to join a club like Liverpool will certainly be quite attractive for Kudus and he will certainly be tempted to play for them in the near future. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
Liverpool need to bring in attacking reinforcements if Salah decides to move on. Replacing the Egyptian will not be easy, and they need someone with exceptional end product in terms of goalscoring and creativity. Liverpool should look to bring in multiple players to fill the point left by the Egyptian attacker.
