Arsenal wonderkid Max Dowman is on the wishlist of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United as well as Barcelona.
Max Dowman has had a phenomenal rise at Arsenal. He is considered to be one of the biggest prospects in Europe, and there is no shortage of interest in his services. According to a report from TBR Football, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona are all keen on signing the young attacking midfielder, who looks destined for greatness.
At the age of just 14, Dowman has already trained with the Arsenal first-team, and he has also been capped by England at the Under-17 level. He is already a regular for the Gunners at the Under-18 level and won’t be turning 15 until the end of the year.
Dowman’s sensational rise has not gone unnoticed and multiple top clubs from across Europe are looking to prise him away from Mikel Arteta’s team. The Gunners recently lost Hubert Graczyk and Chido Obi-Martin, and they are under pressure with regards to the 14-year-old’s future.
European giants keen on signing Max Dowman
Obi-Martin has completed a move to Manchester United, who are now looking to snatch Dowman away from rivals Arsenal. United are well aware of his abilities, and they do not want to add him to their youth ranks. But, they are not the only English club as Liverpool and Chelsea are also monitoring his progress.
All three clubs would pounce on any potential opportunity to lure him away from Arsenal. Apart from Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United, Barcelona are also keen on his signature. They want to add the teenage sensation to their famous La Masia academy.
While Barcelona could not succeed in securing his services during the summer, the Catalan giants retain interest in the Arsenal Under-18 star. But, a move to Spain looks unlikely as it would require his parents to relocate with him. FIFA rules do not allow players under the age of 18 to swap nations.
The only way out is if his parents move with him, which looks very unlikely. While Barcelona and the other three Premier League clubs are keen on signing Dowman, the Gunners are confident that the academy star will choose to continue with them. They feel the 14-year-old sees his long-term future at the Emirates.
