Liverpool considering Mykhailo Mudryk as Mohamed Salah replacement

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is reportedly a target for Premier League rivals Liverpool as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Mohamed Salah will be a free agent in the summer of 2025, and Liverpool are weighing up a move for 23-year-old Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk as a replacement for the Egyptian international.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool could offer a package of around €50 million for the 2023 signing, who has not lived up to the expectations at Chelsea.

It seems quite surprising that Liverpool are willing to sign a player who is yet to prove himself in the Premier League. In addition, the Reds want him to replace someone who is undoubtedly one of the best attackers in Premier League history.

Mudryk was regarded as a prodigious talent during his time at Shakhtar Donetsk, but he has not been able to make his mark in English football so far. It is highly unlikely that he will be able to replace Salah adequately. The move could prove to be a big mistake for Liverpool if they go through with it.

Chelsea paid around €100 million to sign the player in 2023, and they will be fully aware of the fact that no club will want to pay that kind of money for the Ukrainian. Chelsea are likely to accept a €50 million offer for him if Liverpool come forward with an official proposal. The Blues will be desperate to cut their losses on Mudryk.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. The player was heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window as well, and clubs like Bayern Munich have been keen on him. However, Chelsea managed to hold on to him. It remains to be seen whether they are ready to sanction his departure in January.

Can Liverpool convince Salah to stay?

There have been rumours that Liverpool could look to tie Mohamed Salah down to a new contract as well. The Egyptian international is undoubtedly a world-class player ,and he has helped them win several major trophies.

Keeping him at the club should be the first priority for Liverpool. It will be interesting to see if they can convince the player to commit his long-term future to the club. Even if they have to replace the Egyptian international, they should look to bring in a world-class player who has proven himself at the highest level on a consistent basis.
