Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City keen on Nicolo Barella

A host of top clubs are chasing Inter Milan’s key midfield star, Nicolo Barela, including Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

According to Inter-Live, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Manchester City are all ready to sound out a move for Nicolo Barella in the future. Inter Milan holds all the cards on the midfielder’s future, as it will be a challenging prospect to get him out of the San Siro.

Nicolo Barella has big suitors

Inter Milan have played Manchester City twice in recent times, as one was earlier this week and then the 2023 Champions League Final, where the English side triumphed. In both those games, a certain Nicolo Barella stood out as the key man in the game, as he even managed to overshadow the formidable Rodri.

Hence it’s natural for Manchester City to see links to the midfielder, as Pep Guardiola does admire the 27-year-old Serie A star vastly. There’s potential space in this Man City midfield as the club can dispense off with the likes of Matheus Nunes and Mateo Kovacic to accommodate the Italian star. They are linked to many midfield names, including AC Milan’s Tijani Reijnders, among others, with Barella also on this list.

However, there’s competition in place for the Italian international, as his profile will come to suit some other top teams as well. Liverpool were interested in the summer before switching their attention, knowing very well the difficulties in signing the Inter Milan star.

While they ended up failing in luring Martin Zubimendi, Barella could be a future option if he does become available. Real Madrid are also named as a suitor, with Florentino Perez keen to bring in an able replacement for Toni Kroos. Whether they have the power to convince the player and his club, Inter Milan, remains the question, as only a summer deal might be possible.

Will Inter Milan sell Barella?

Inter Milan have plenty of financial issues which could see constant exit links for some of their critical stars including the 27-year-old Serie A star. However, the club have not done any such dealings to sell essential players, and are keen to keep Barella as things stand.

Barella signed a new deal last January and remains tied until 2029, meaning Inter Milan holds all the power in determining his future. While they are unlikely to sanction a sale, if they do, it would be for a huge asking price, although that should not pose a problem for those interested sides.
