Newcastle United, Tottenham run rule over Kevin Zenon

Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have scouted 23-year-old Argentine midfield prospect Kevin Zenon in Boca Juniors’ recent ties against Rosario Central and Racing Club.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are ramping up their interest in Kevin Zenon. The two Premier League clubs have run the rule over the Boca Junior midfield prospect in the club’s recent games against Rosario Central and Racing Club. In addition, the 23-year-old is open to moving to the Premier League in 2025.

Who is Kevin Zenon?

Kevin Zenon has risen in prominence as a promising midfielder in the last nine months, going from strength to strength since joining Boca Juniors from Union Santa Fe in January 2024. While the South American prospect is primarily a midfielder, he is equally adept at playing as a left-back and a left-winger, with his versatility making him an asset for Boca Juniors.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a solid 2024 season with Boca Juniors, contributing to 12 goals in 38 appearances by finding the back of the net four times and providing eight assists. In addition, Zenon has broken into his nation’s under-23 side this year.

Meanwhile, Kevin Zenon’s progress at Boca Juniors has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are among the front-runners to land the Argentine midfield prospect next year after scouting him in action for Boca Juniors against Rosario Central and Racing Club.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Newcastle United mulled over signing Kevin Zenon from Boca Juniors in the summer transfer window before a move failed to see the light of day. However, despite failing with a summer move, the Magpies remain keen on signing him and have recently enquired about him.

As for Tottenham Hotspur, they recently joined the race to sign Zenon from Boca Juniors. The 23-year-old can be an option for the midfield unit amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Rodrigo Bentancur. In addition, he can become the long-term successor to Son Heung-min or an alternative to Destiny Udogie in the left-back berth.

However, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are not alone in the race to secure Zenon’s services, with Brighton & Hove Albion, Lyon, and Napoli also keen on signing him. The Argentine prospect is open to moving to the Premier League but will assess all offers before taking a call on his future.
