Viktor Tsygankov continues to attract the interest of Premier League sides, with three of them planning to scout the winger.
According to Caught Offside, Viktor Tsygankov is a big target in the waiting for Premier League sides, with three Champions League-playing English sides set to scout the winger. Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa are those planning on sending observers to watch the Ukrainian winger.
Viktor Tsygankov in demand
Viktor Tsygankov was hoping to build on his impressive display in the 23-24 season with Girona and make a big move elsewhere. The winger certainly was open to joining a Premier League side if a serious offer arrived on Girona’s table, which probably never did.
Barring a few concrete glances, none of the interested clubs followed up as Tsygankov watched along as some of his Girona colleagues got their big moves, including compatriot Artem Dovbyk. Arsenal and Aston Villa held an interest briefly but never came forward with an offer to test the Spanish side’s resolve on the 26-year-old La Liga winger.
The door might not have shut for Tsygankov with those two sides, as Arsenal and Aston Villa are planning scouting missions to watch the winger closely. The 26-year-old’s performances over the next few games would be judged, as these are two teams who are still in the market for a high-octane wide attacker for the future.
Aston Villa, in particular, did not replace Moussa Diaby following his big-money move to Saudi Arabia. While they have managed to bring able replacements and wide attackers, they are at a different level than the departed Frenchman. Arsenal, too, are on the lookout for long-term wide options and without making headways with many of their targets, they ended up signing Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea for the season.
Liverpool in Tsygankov chase
Fulham made a late enquiry for Tsygankov, but the 26-year-old La Liga winger was maybe not keen on the switch and left Champions League-bound Girona for the Cottagers. Liverpool are now in the mix as per the report and planning to execute their scouting mission on the Ukranian in the period ahead.
Liverpool are still unclear about Mohamed Salah’s future, as the winger has already entered the final year of his deal at the club. Should he depart on a free transfer with Saudi clubs already circling, the Merseysiders will be on the lookout for an able wide attacker to replace the Egyptian, as Tsygankov could emerge as an option in that regard.
