Newcastle United and Manchester United have received a major boost in their pursuit of the services of free agent Adrien Rabiot.
Adrien Rabiot’s future has been the talk of the town throughout the summer. The French midfielder has been on the lookout for his next club after parting ways with Juventus. Clubs from across the globe are keen on signing the free agent but according to a report from Football Insider, the former PSG star is keen on staying in Europe amidst interest in his services from Newcastle United and Manchester United.
Rabiot made the move to Juventus in the summer of 2019. While the initial years were quite difficult for the French midfielder, he managed to establish himself in their first team and eventually became one of their mainstays.
The Old Lady were keen on extending his stay at the club but he ended up parting ways with the Turin-based outfit following the expiry of his contract.
The French international has been on the lookout for a potential destination since the start of the summer but he hasn’t had any luck so far. Clubs from the Middle East as well as Turkiye are keen on having him in their squad.
But, Rabiot wants to continue in Europe. He wants to play at the highest level and return to the French squad after being left out of the squad for the September international break.
Rabiot to join a Premier League club?
Manchester United and Newcastle United are both keen on signing the 29-year-old. While the Red Devils’ new project focuses on signing young players who can help them in the long run, they are willing to make an exception for the French midfielder who can add depth as well as a lot of quality to their midfield,
With Casemiro struggling for form, he could be the perfect fit for them. Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s team are also on the lookout for more quality in the centre of the park and Rabiot could do wonders for them. They might not have European football to offer, but their project surely is an exciting one.
While both United and the Magpies consider his wage demands to be a touch on the higher side, they have received a major boost in their pursuit as the former Juventus midfielder has no intentions of leaving Europe at this stage of his career.
