Nottingham Forest preparing improved bid to sign Eddie Nketiah

Nottingham Forest are reportedly preparing to return with a revised offer to sign Arsenal academy graduate Eddie Nketiah.

Nottingham Forest are looking to reinforce their attack, and they have their eyes set on Eddie Nketiah. Their initial offer was turned down by Arsenal but according to a report from TEAMtalk, the Tricky Trees are looking to return with an improved bid in an attempt to prise him away from the North London club.

Nketiah has had an exceptional rise at Arsenal. He made it to their first team four years after joining them from Chelsea in 2015. While he has been a part of the Gunners’ first team for almost five years, the 25-year-old has failed to establish himself as an important part of their team.

The English international has produced impactful performances every now and then but he hasn’t been able to be a regular under Mikel Arteta. He has fallen down the pecking order in recent seasons and is keen on parting ways in search of regular first-team action.

While the Englishman still has three years left on his £120,000-a-week deal, the Gunners are also looking to get him off their books. The 25-year-old was closing in a move to French giants Marseille. But the move fell off because they could not agree terms with Arsenal who want £30 million for the English striker.

Nottingham Forest pushing hard to sign Nketiah

Once the move to France fell off, Nottingham Forest entered the race and tabled a £25 million bid for his services. But the Gunners did not like the structure of their bid, and they are holding out on their demands. While the Tircky Trees’ initial bid has been turned down, they are preparing to return with an improved offer in the coming days. It will be interesting to see how close the offer is to Arsenal’s demands.

According to a report from Football Insider, Nottingham Forest have submitted a detailed proposal to try and lure Nketiah to the club. They are quite confident about making it happen before the end of the transfer window.

While the player’s wage demands could be a problem, Nottingham Forest are willing to offer him huge wages and make him the highest-paid player at the club. Marseille remain in the mix for his services. But they will find it difficult to match the wages the Trick Trees are ready to offer the 25-year-old.
