UEFA Champions League regulars and Turkish champions Galatasaray have reportedly offered €20 million to sign Scott McTominay from Manchester United this summer.
According to a report by Turkish outlet Aslinda, Scott McTominay remains the subject of interest from Galatasaray. The Turkish champions and UEFA Champions League regulars have improved their bid from €15 million to €20 million to sign the Manchester United midfielder. However, the Red Devils want around €25 million to part ways with the 27-year-old midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Scott McTominay and his Manchester United journey
Scott McTominay has enjoyed a solid career thus far at Manchester United since graduating from the club’s academy and establishing a foothold in the first-team squad at Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho handed the Scotsman his first-team bow, and he has not looked back since then.
The 27-year-old has turned out more than 250 times thus far for Manchester United while chipping in with 29 goals and eight assists. However, McTominay’s long-term future at Old Trafford is uncertain, as he has entered the final 12 months of his contract with the Red Devils.
Such a situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Recent reports have linked the Manchester United academy graduate with a few Premier League clubs, including Fulham. However, Galatasaray will look to end Scott McTominay’s time in England by securing his services in the summer transfer window.
Turkish adventure beckons?
Galatasaray’s interest in Scott McTominay is understandable. The Turkish champions are keen on signing a midfielder who can reprise the role of no. 8 in the middle of the park. While the 27-year-old Scot can play as a holding midfielder or a box-to-box midfielder, he excels in more advanced roles.
So, McTominay is a viable target for Galatasaray, with personal terms not being an issue, as he is ready to move to Turkiye in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the UEFA Champions League regulars have submitted an improved bid worth €20 million to sign the Manchester United academy graduate. However, the Red Devils want around €25 million to part ways with him.
Recent reports suggested Galatasaray did not want to pay more than €15 million to secure Scott McTominay’s services. While that is seemingly untrue, it will be interesting to see if the Turkish giants are ready to match Manchester United’s asking price of €25 million.
