Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have no intentions of parting ways with Gabriel Jesus amidst interest from the Saudi Pro League.
According to a report from Football Insider, Arsenal have made a decision regarding the future of Gabriel Jesus. The Gunners do not want to part ways with the Brazilian international despite interest in his services from the Middle East.
After making a name for himself at Manchester City, he made the move to Arsenal in the summer of 2022 in search of a more prominent role at the North London club. So far, the Brazilian striker has featured in 69 matches for Mikel Arteta’s team and he has contributed towards 34 goals (19 goals, 15 assists).
While those are decent returns, his time at Arsenal has been plagued by injury. Last season, he was involved in just 27 league games and was on the pitch for less than 1,500 minutes.
Arsenal do not want to sell Gabriel Jesus
Arsenal have been linked with quite a few top forwards as they look to add more goals to their squad. With reports of a new number nine coming in, Gabriel Jesus’ future has been up in the air. But, Arsenal seems to have already made a decision.
While they are aware of the fact that multiple clubs will come knocking, they have decided to keep hold of their star who still has three years left on his deal. His versatility might be one of the key reasons why Arteta wants him around.
The North London club’s resolve will surely be tested amidst interest in his services from the Saudi Pro League. Al-Ahli are keen on signing the Brazilian striker and they do have the financial strength to make the Gunners think twice.
While Gabriel Jesus is happy to continue at Arsenal, things could change if he doesn’t start ahead of Kai Havertz during the summer. He is quite highly valued by clubs in the Middle East and they want him to be the next star to join the league. If they do come up with offers, Arsenal will have to fend off their offers to keep hold of him.
