According to Give Me Sport, Reiss Nelson is willing to make the switch to West Ham United amid interest from the London side. Fulham are also keen on the winger, with Arsenal willing to sell the homegrown prospect this summer and get his £100,000-a-week wages off their books.
Reiss Nelson Open to West Ham move
Reiss Nelson could become a high-profile exit from Arsenal this summer, as Mikel Arteta may have conceded defeat in his efforts to develop the winger. The homegrown star signed a new deal last summer that earns him around £100,000-a-week wages, and the Gunners are in a strong position to negotiate with suitors.
Despite showing flashes of his talent, Nelson never convinced Arteta he was an absolute player he could trust in games. Hence, Bukayo Saka was seen playing more minutes than necessary, as the manager refrained from playing Nelson in games last season.
With his homegrown status also playing a part, Arsenal are set to demand £20 million or even more for Nelson in the current window. The Gunners will benefit massively from such a sale, as West Ham have shown an interest in signing the winger in this window. It appears the player is open to the switch.
Nelson would prefer to stay in London should he leave Arsenal, and with his place in jeopardy under Arteta, it would be wise for him to leave. Fulham keen on Nelson
Nelson might have a strong preference to stay in London, and luckily enough, there are clubs keeping tabs. Fulham were among those keen on the winger, while Crystal Palace are also in the mix after selling Michael Olise to Bayern Munich. However, it is the interest from the Cottagers that may seem exciting for Nelson, who could have a starting role at the club should he choose to join Marco Silva’s side.
As things stand, West Ham may have an upper hand, considering they might have already made moves in the background. At the same time, Fulham’s interest might have some legs. It seems certain that Arsenal is very much open to selling Nelson at the right price.
