Jarrad Branthwaite agrees £160,000-a-week deal with Manchester United

Jarrad Branthwaite will sign a contract with £160,000-a-week wages if he joins Manchester United from Everton in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Football Insider, Jarrad Branthwaite is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are struggling to find a common ground with Everton on transfer fees. However, the 22-year-old defender is ready to sign a contract with £160,000-a-week wages if he moves to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

The rapid rise of Jarrad Branthwaite

Jarrad Branthwaite has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Premier League in the last 12 months. A graduate of Everton’s youth division, the Englishman needed a loan spell at PSV Eindhoven to find a stable footing at Goodison Park. However, he has not looked back since becoming a regular for the Merseyside outfit.

The 22-year-old has turned out over 50 times thus far for Everton, chipping in with four assists. In addition, Branthwaite’s exploits for the Toffees have helped him break into his national team, making his international bow last month. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed.

Several high-profile clubs have set their sights on Branthwaite, although a move across the Premier League is the likeliest scenario. Manchester United have been the most serious suitor pursuing the English defender’s signature in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United want Branthwaite

Manchester United’s interest in Jarrad Branthwaite is understandable. The Red Devils have been scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window after parting ways with Raphael Varane as a free agent. In addition, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof face an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

So, while recent reports have provided a positive update on Matthijs de Ligt, Manchester United can do with two new centre-backs. Branthwaite has thus emerged as a viable target for the Premier League heavyweights. And the 22-year-old Englishman is ready to sign a long-term contract with £160,000-a-week wages at Old Trafford.

While personal terms should not be an issue for Manchester United, they might not accept Everton’s asking price for the England international. So, it will be interesting to see if a summer move for Branthwaite sees the light of day.
