Manchester United ramp up efforts to sign Joshua Zirkzee

Manchester United are stepping up their chase of Joshua Zirkzee, and they could be willing to beat the competition for the Dutch striker.

According to Caught Offside, Manchester United are willing to accelerate their pursuit of Joshua Zirkzee as Erik ten Hsg wants the striker. The Dutch forward has been attracting plenty of interest in the market, with AC Milan considered very close to signing the Bologna man with a £34 million release clause.

Manchester United accelerate Joshua Zirkzee’s pursuit

Manchester United have been looking for a striker in addition to Rasmus Hojlund to give Erik ten Hag that extra option he craves. The Danish star has performed admirably, but there are instances where the team begs for a different idea on the pitch.

The Red Devils had internal discussions about Joshua Zirkzee over a potential move. According to the report, the attacker has a £34 million release clause, although agent fees and commissions could significantly increase the total outlay.

That is something Manchester Untied are willing to for out, and these commissions or other expenses have been a pproblem for AC Milan, who appear very close to landing Zirkzee. The Red Devils might now feel they have a window of opportunity to land the £34 million-rated attacker, who would undoubtedly improve their attacking ranks.

Zirkzee has plenty of interest from other Premier League sides, although none have made a move forward. Hence, Manchester United might have the upper hand as there are hints they have made headway in the chase for the striker, with Bologna resigned to losing him this summer.

Can Manchester United sign Zirkzee?

Manchester United are not flush with cash at the moment, as INEOS has suggested they will have to make sales before they can sign big names. After selling Mason Greenwood, Manchester United is planning to sign someone like Zirkzee.

They have other priorities in the squad, namely bringing in a central defender and a midfielder before focusing their full attention on attacking signings. Hence, they will have to sell players before spending money on the Bologna striker, although this is a transfer to keep a close watch on.
