West Ham United are reportedly set to complete a Bosman move for Wes Foderingham, who will sign a two-year contract with the East London club.
According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Wes Foderingham is on the cusp of completing a Bosman move to West Ham United. The Hammers have been scouring the market for a goalkeeper heading into the summer transfer window. The 33-year-old Sheffield United shot-stopper has agreed to join the East London club by signing a two-year contract.
Wes Foderingham and his topsy-turvy ride
Wes Foderingham has been in and out of the starting lineup since joining Sheffield United from Rangers in July 2020. A native of London, the Englishman spent most of his formative years with Fulham before graduating from the youth division at the West London club. However, he could not establish a foothold in the first-team squad at Craven Cottage.
The 33-year-old found a stable footing in his career after joining Swindon Town, failing to make his mark for Fulham and Crystal Palace. The move to Rangers also brought some success before he joined Sheffield United nearly four years ago. Since then, Foderingham has turned out 112 times for the Blades, keeping 39 clean sheets while conceding 149 goals.
However, Wes Foderingham’s spell with Sheffield United will officially end on July 1, as he will become a free agent when his contract expires. But the English goalkeeper will immediately return to the Premier League after suffering relegation with the Blades. West Ham United will be his next destination.

West Ham United’s interest in Wes Foderingham is understandable. The Hammers are scouring the market for a goalkeeper heading into the summer transfer window. While Alphonse Areola remains the undisputed first-choice shot-stopper, Lukasz Fabianski is on his last legs in his long career.
So, the Hammers have been eager to sign a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window. West Ham showed interest in Carlos Miguel before losing the race to Nottingham Forest. They have now completed the agreement for another goalkeeper, with Foderingham arriving as the new third-choice stopper.
