Everton and Fulham are reportedly interested in signing 20-year-old African midfielder Lamine Camara from FC Metz.
According to a report by French outlet Jeunes Footeux, Lamine Camara might leave FC Metz in the summer transfer window after the club’s relegation from Ligue 1. A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Everton and Fulham vying for the signature of the 20-year-old African midfielder.
Who is Lamine Camara?
Lamine Camara has made gradual progress since arriving in Europe a few years ago. A native of Diouloulou, he spent his formative years in his homeland, passing through the academies at Galaxy FA and Casa Sports before graduating from the youth division at Generation Foot.
The 20-year-old arrived in Europe by joining FC Metz in February 2023. Camara has been a regular for FC Metz in the last 18 months, and he amassed over 2,500 minutes of game time across 34 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with two goals and five assists. However, the youngster could not help FC Metz remain in Ligue 1.
With FC Metz suffering relegation from Ligue 1 to Ligue 2, the African midfielder might embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window. A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Everton and Fulham vying for the signature of the Senegalese international.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Everton’s interest in Lamine Camara is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Amadou Onana. So, the FC Metz midfielder has emerged as a viable target for Everton.
As for Fulham, the Cottagers will dip their toes in the market for a midfielder in the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Joao Palhinha. So, several midfielders, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, have emerged on Fulham’s radar. However, Camara is also an option worth considering for the West London club.
With Everton and Fulham keen on securing Lamine Camara’s services in the summer transfer window, a move to the Premier League might be in the pipeline. It will be interesting to see where the 20-year-old FC Metz midfielder plies his trade next season after the club’s relegation from Ligue 1.
