Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham have shown massive interest in Takefusa Kubo, with Real Sociedad ready to sell for €60 million.
According to Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness, a host of Premier League sides are keen to sign Takefusa Kubo in the summer window. Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City have reportedly made approaches for the Japanese winger, with Real Sociedad ready to part ways for €60 million.
Premier League interest in Takefusa Kubo
Takefuso Kubo had a strange season at Real Sociedad, as his early season form did attract massive interest from top suitors. However, his form did wane off in the second part, and that has contributed to reduced talks of a move away from Real Sociedad.
However, things might have changed in the background in that regard, as the report suggests there’s a frenzy of interested parties from the Premier League. Liverpool had an interest before, as they still rate the winger, although they also have other options like Johan Bakayoko on their list should they choose to bring a new right winger.
Manchester United have previously considered the Real Sociedad winger as a serious option for their squad, although now things will depend on whether they can offload Jadon Sancho, for whom they want £40 million in the current market, although only Borussia Dortmund being the only suitor so far, want only a loan deal as they cannot afford a permanent transfer at this stage.
Tottenham might have the most concrete interest at this stage in the Kubo chase, as they are reportedly prepared to pay good money to sign the La Liga winger. Ange Postecoglou wants a new presence on the right side of the pitch as he wanted more from the performances of either Dejan Kulusevski or Brennan Johnson from that wing and might consider a move for Kubo.
Real Sociedad want €60 million
Kubo has a release clause with €60 million on his deal, and from a financial standpoint, Real Sociedad will not accept a dime less than that price. Real Madrid have a clause as part of their deal to sell the Japanese winger, which entitles them to €27 million of the €60 million should the attacker leave the club.
Hence, should Real Sociedad sell him for the full value of the €60 million clause, they will receive only €33 million. Hence, they might not sell him for less. Whether the Premier League sides, especially Tottenham, are ready to pay that much remains to be seen, but it’s not impossible for these English clubs.
