Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly interested in signing 19-year-old Real Madrid midfield sensation Arda Guler on loan this summer.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Arda Guler is the subject of interest from Juventus. The Serie A giants are scouring the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. They are keen on signing the 19-year-old Real Madrid midfield sensation on a season-long loan deal.
Arda Guler and his challenging debut season at Real Madrid
Arda Guler endured a trial by fire after joining Real Madrid from Fenerbahce last summer. The teenage prospect battled fitness issues that kept him on the sidelines for several months. However, the Turk made his mark after regaining fitness, although Carlo Ancelotti eased him back into the thick of things.
The 19-year-old managed only 440 minutes of game time across 12 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with six assists. Guler’s stock should rise in the 2023/24 season, with Toni Kroos calling time on his glittering career. And the youngster’s performances promise a bright long-term future at Real Madrid.
However, despite some excellent performances for Real Madrid, Arda Guler’s immediate future remains uncertain. Widespread reports have linked the Turkish international with several La Liga clubs. The former Fenerbahce midfielder is also courting interest from foreign clubs, with Serie A giants Juventus keen.
Serie A move on the horizon?
Juventus’s interest in Arda Guler is understandable. The Bianconeri will part ways with Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior, with the duo reportedly joining Aston Villa. In addition, the Serie A giants are in a spot of bother over the long-term future of Adrien Rabiot, who has entered the final weeks of his contract.
So, they are eager to sign multiple midfielders in the summer transfer window, with Guler emerging as a viable target. However, a summer move for the Turkish international will unlikely see the light of day, with Real Madrid not interested in entertaining offers for him.
With Guler not going anywhere, Juventus must look elsewhere for a new midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. As for the 19-year-old, he will hope to grow in stature at the Santiago Bernabeu in the 2024/25 season.
